Having finally discovered (from the many helpful people on the internet) how to place a "sticky" welcome note on a blogger page (and refusing to post a blog entry with a far future date as a hack,) I can now post professional and personal (non-random) updates on my front-page without getting annoyed with the welcome notice getting pushed down the list.
I cannot believe this took two years to work out. To be fair to myself, it did not annoy me enough in the past to warrant any deep look into solutions.
